Entrevistando a: Keanu Silva

Loud Cave: For the ones who don’t know you, can you introduce yourself?

Keanu Silva: Yes, of course. I’m Keanu Silva, 28 years old and I’m from Germany.

LC: You started as a DJ in little clubs in Germany, when did you start growing significantly as an artist?

KS: Yes, that’s right. I think that things really started to grow when once the big guys started reaching out to me.

LC: We saw that you really enjoy listening to demos and helping upcoming producers, what important advice would you give to the producers that are starting now?

KS: Yes, I really enjoy listening to demos and see aspiring artists. Because they are the artists of the future right? I think the most important advice I could give is to believe in yourself because I think that’s the beginning. Also, don’t be afraid to fail and just make as many different tracks as you can, practice, find your own sound and surround yourself with people that believe in you.

LC: This year you entered for the first time in the Top 101 producers of 1001tracklists, straight to position 23, how do you feel about this? What are your thoughts about this top?

KS: Receiving this award was definitely one of the highlights of my career so far! I was amazed to hear that I was the biggest new entry at #23 in the Top 101 Producers list. Especially among such inspirational artists. So it truly means a lot to me. After working so hard, an award like this makes me very proud, grateful and above all, it keeps me motivated to work on my music. I’m excited to show everybody the stuff we are working on in 2020!

LC: How Mixmash Records and Spinnin’, the first big labels where you released, have influenced your career?

KS: Working together with Mixmash and Spinnin’ helped a lot to bring my music to a bigger audience which was important to build up my career as an artist.

LC: We know that you’ve released recently on Hexagon, Don Diablo’s label, how do you get in contact with him or how did he know from you?

KS: I met him shortly at ADE 2017 when we ran into each other on the streets, he already knew some of my songs and that encouraged me to send him something in the future. Just a little time later, after finishing “Fine Day”, we decided to send him a demo to get more into contact and that resulted in us starting to work together which worked out pretty nice! 🙂

LC: Also this year you played for the first time at Tomorrowland, precisely with Don Diablo in b2b, how it was that experience?

KS: I think it’s the dream of every DJ to play out there and the fact that I could play there was an unforgettable experience.

LC: Te hemos visto trabajar y dar tu propiio estilo a algunos clásicos como “Children”, “Tell Me Why” o “You Got The Love”.

LC: We’ve seen you working and giving your own vibe to some classics as “Children”, “Tell Me Why” or “You Got The Love”. Do you feel more comfortable working on melodies already existing? Do you think that this kind of tracks works better than the other ones?

KS: I don’t think that the one track works better compared to the other because of existing melodies. There was just something in those tracks that I really liked and then you just transform the track into your own sound. Maybe I even feel like working with a track that everybody already knows, brings that extra challenge. Because it doesn’t necessarily mean that if people like the original, they will like the remake as well.

LC: In your musical repertoire, we can listen to house as the principal genre in his deep and future aspects combined: With which are you more comfortable by the time of producing? Would you like to explore other aspects of house such as progressive or a more underground house?

KS: I believe that the most important thing is to keep experimenting, while at the same time, staying true to your own style. I wouldn’t want to limit myself into one genre and I also feel that artists should always keep evolving their sound, just as we evolve ourselves as humans too. So who knows what will come up! 🙂

LC: Now, let’s go with a round of short questions!

LC: A dream collab?

KS: Hmm, there are so many amazing artists out there and it would be great to collab with some of them for sure. But for now, I’ll be focussing on some solo productions first :).

LC: One goal to achieve for 2020?

KS: For now, I want to focus on staying creative and doing my best to produce the music my fans will love.

LC: ¿Pinchar o producir?

KS: ¡Ambas por supuesto!

LC: Djing or producing?

KS: Both of course!

LC: Your favorite 2019 artist?

KS: Wow, that’s actually a tough question haha. I can’t really choose one artist, there are so many good artists in different music genres!
