Loud Cave: Hello Bowdy, welcome to the cave! Before we start with the questions we have prepared specifically for you, we would like to thank you for having accepted this interview in Loud Cave. It’s a pleasure for us to have one of the greatest exponents of uptempo hardcore nowadays. We hope you are well.

Lunakorpz: Thank you for the interest, and yeah, I’m great. ¡Thanks for asking!

LC: At the end of 2015 you introduced yourself to the world as LunaKorpz with “Eleven” . Where does your stage name come from?

L: The DJ name Lunakorpz started with me and my best friend. I really liked the name “Luna” that means “crazy”, but also “the moon”. The name “korpz” is something like a group we wanted to make, a group who have the same passion for uptempo as us.

LC: At the beginning of your musical career you went out to DJ with a mask. Why did you decide to remain anonymous? What prompted you to show your face some time later?

L: For me it was in the beginning very scary to look at people when I was preforming, and I wanted something to hide that fear and I also wanted to be more anonymous. Nevertheless, at party’s everyone already recognised me without a mask, so that made me think to quit with it.

LC: If we look at your logo or the name of your label (which we will talk about later), we realize that you have a special fixation on wolves. What do these animals symbolize for you?

L: I personally think a wolf looks badass. Also, they are always with a group called the “Wolfpack”, which identifies me. I wanted to build one big group of friends and uptempo lovers to make something unique

L: ¡Gracias!

LC: It is surprising that such a young guy is in such a privileged position in the scene. That’s why we are curious to know how your passion for the genre came up and if you received any kind of training to learn how to produce. At any time did you think you would get to where you are now?

L: Thanks! That’s amazing to hear. I´ve learned everything myself. I starterd with music when I was 14 years old with house music, and after years my love for hardcore grow, so when I was 19 I strated as Lunakorpz. The energy that people and the amazing parties give me keep me pushing myself to be better and better. And no, I never thought I would get it so far, but I am a really sober guy who always think that I have to do better.

LC: Although you have produced for several labels such as Uptempo Is The Tempo Records, PARTYRAISER RECORDINGS, Triple Six Records or FOOTWORXX; your most important releases have been released by Offensive Rage, Cryogenic’s label. How important do you think this label is in the hardcore scene worldwide? Are you going to keep releasing music here?

L: It´s a great label. I wanted to thank Cryogenic for pushing me all these years, but I´ve just opened my own label and I’m focusing on it. I wanna make Wolvpack one of the best uptempo labels.

LC: You recently opened Wolvpack Recordings, your new label, obtaining a brutal repercussion with “BUSTER” and “LOSE STRESS”. Why did you open a label? Are you going to include more producers in it?

L: I wanted to make something different and unique in the uptempo, and having a own label is something amazing, so I can finally drop the music i always wanted to do and bring more Lunakorpz tracks to the scene. I have my eyes on some great producers,  but I can’t tell. It wil be epic, for sure!

LC: You have a very peculiar style of uptempo hardcore that stands out mainly for its kicks. You have been able to create a personal kind of kick that represents you, which is very difficult, did you find it hard to find your own style of kick?

L: Yeah! For me it was really hard because now we have some great producers at the uptempo who already have their own sound. It took me a really long time to have something I loved and the crowd love. I’m really happy to see the response on my new tracks are great. It makes me really happy!

LC: From our point of view you are part of a group together with other great artists such as Dimitri K, The Dark Horror, MBK, DRS or Irradiate; in which you lead the current uptempo. Do you think you are the future of the genre?

L: I work really hard every day to make something new and banging so yeah, I hope so.

LC: You have a collaboration with Ncrypta. Lately collabs are taking place between raw and uptempo artists, like Cryex and Cryogenic. What is it like to work with Ncrypta? Do you think this kind of songs bring personality to the hard industry?

L: Ncrypta was always my rawstyle favourite producer; what he does with kicks is insane. When he wanted to work with me was a goal.
I think it’s good to combine genres; it’s fresh for the harders styles, and I like it.

LC: En 2019 lanzaste el álbum “Raised By Wolves”.

LC: In 2019 you released the album “Raised By Wolves”. Considering that in recent times you have been focusing on EPs (see “The New Era”, “Pop That Pussy” or the one reviewed on the website “With Us”), we wonder if you are planning to release an LP again.

L: No. I’m now focusing more on single releases. I try to release almost every month to get more noticed; it works better for me.

LC: You have a very interesting saga of sessions on your SoundCloud called “FEAR THE KORPZ”. You are currently on the seventh installment. Do you plan to continue releasing more editions?

L: Yeah! I started with the idea of doing a monthly podcast, but I work harder on my monthly release. It’s really hard to making, music playing it and also recording a mix, but there is a new one coming out soon, so keep in touch.

LC: We’ve seen you playing live as well as in Offensive Rage and Harder Kan Toch Niet sessions. How is LunaKorpz in the booth? Do you like to do B2B with other artists? Which have been the festivals/shows/clubs where you’ve enjoyed playing the most?

L: For the people who saw me playing, I’m really energetic. I like to show the people how I’m loving this music and giving them a great experience with hard kicks and crazy edits.
With respect to B2B, I play a lot with Abbadon, but I also like to play with guys like The Dope Doctor or Soulblast; they are also my friends.
My best set was some days ago at Harmony Of Hardcore; it was a special one because it was always my dream to play there.

LC: Last February the 5th you were in Fabrik Madrid for the first time. How was your experience in Spain? What strikes you about our country?

L: I love Spain, I have no words for it. You guys know how to party with so much energy and love. It’s amazing! I hope to play there soon again (I’m also going on vacation in).

L: Warface, seguro.

LC: Now we are going to ask you a series of short questions.

LC: What is your dream collaboration?

L: Warface, for sure.

LC: Do you listen to any kind of music that strays away from hardcore?

L: Yeah! I listen to a lot of rawstyle, but I also like dubstep.

L: “0Pen Up!”.

LC: The track produced by you that you like the least.

L: “0Pen up!”.

LC: What advice would you give to a small producer who wants to go far?

L: Keep pushing, spending as much possible time in the studio and believing in yourself.

LC: Una meta a largo plazo.

LC: A long-term goal.

L: Making Lunakorpz a world wide thing; one big “Wolvpack”.

LC: Hobbies aparte de la música.

L: Gaming y pasar tiempo con mi novia.

LC: Hobbies other than music.

L: Gaming and spending time with my girlfriend.

LC: Finally, anything you want to say to all the fans you have in Spain?
