Namara: Hey, gracias por tener esta entrevista conmigo.
Loud Cave: Hello Nadine! Before we start with the interview, we would like to say what a pleasure it is for us to have you in the cave today. We hope you are well.
Namara: Hey, I just wanna say also thank you for having this interview with me.
LC: ¿De dónde viene tu nombre artístico?
N: En realidad tengo tres nombres de pila, los mezclé y por suerte salió Namara.
LC: Where does your artistic name come from?
N: I actually have three first names, I mixed them and luckily Namara came out.
LC: Eres de nacionalidad alemana, un país en el que se valora mucho la música electrónica, y en concreto los harder styles. ¿Cómo surgió tu pasión por este tipo de música?
N: Cuando me mudé a otra ciudad, me uní a un nuevo grupo de amigos, y ellos ya escuchaban esta música. Pasó mucho tiempo hasta que me acostumbré. Al principio ni siquiera me gustaba, pero después de mucho tiempo enfrentada al hardstyle me empezaron a gustar algunos temas eufóricos que no eran tan duros (por ejemplo “Imaginary”, de Brennan Heart), así que poco a poco desarrollé un gran amor por tracks como este. Empecé a visitar muchos eventos de hardstyle, y después de 1 año empecé a escuchar hardcore y uptempo.
LC: You are of German nationality, a country where electronic music, and in particular harder styles, is highly valued. How did your passion for this type of music come about?
N: When I moved to another city, I joined a new group of friends, and they already listened to this music. It took a long time until I warmed up. At the beginning I didn’t even liked it, but after a long time confronted with hardstyle I started liking some euphoric tracks which wasn’t so hard (for example “Imaginary”, by Brennan Heart), so slowly but surely i developed a big love for tracks like this. I started visiting a lot of hardstyle events, and after 1 year I started hearing hardcore and uptempo.
LC: Tienes unos cuantos tatuajes. ¿Cuál es el estilo que más te gusta? ¿Tienes pensado hacerte más?
N: Estoy enamorada del estilo tradicional oldschool y, sí, creo que acabaré teniendo un cuerpo lleno de tatuajes.
LC: You have a few tattoos. Which style do you like the most? Do you plan to get more?
N: I´m in love with the traditional oldschool style and, yes, I think I will be ended up with a full tattooed body.
LC: Tu track “Inner Demons” fue un completo éxito. Este alcanzó el puesto 68 en el top 100 mejores canciones Masters Of Hardcore 2021, se incluyó en el disco de Harmony Of Hardcore y ha sido pinchado en directo por multitud de grandísimos DJs (como por ejemplo Lil Texas). ¿Qué crees que tiene “Inner Demons” para haberle gustado tanto a la gente? ¿Te esperabas esta repercusión?
N: Creo que la energía de este tema es lo que le hace tan especial. La letra profunda, la hermosa melodía combinada con las voces metal y, por supuesto, los kicks. No esperaba este éxito; estoy muy contenta de que a tanta gente le guste este tema como a mí.
LC: Your track “Inner Demons” was a complete success. It reached the 68th position in the top 100 best songs Masters Of Hardcore 2021, it was included in the Harmony Of Hardcore disco and has been played live by many great DJs (such as Lil Texas). What do you think people liked so much about “Inner Demons”? Did you expect this repercussion?
N: I think the entire energy of this track makes it so special. The deep lyric, the beautiful melody combined with pushing metal vocals and, of course, the kicks. I didn’t expect this success; I’m really happy that so much people love this track as i am.
LC: Tanto en “Inner Demons” como en “Broken Inside” (tu último track), apreciamos una clara influencia de la música metal, sobre todo en los screams de las vocales y en algunas partes de percusión. ¿Te gusta el rock metal? ¿Tienes pensado seguir juntando ambos estilos musicales en tus canciones?
N: Me gusta el metal y todo lo relacionado con él. Lo mantendré en mis pistas, pero también tengo otras muchas ideas, así que estad atentos.
LC: In both “Inner Demons” and “Broken Inside” (your last track), we can appreciate a clear influence of metal music, especially in the screams of the vocals and in some percussion parts. Do you like metal rock? Do you plan to continue combining both musical styles in your songs?
N: I like metal and everything that belongs to it. I will keep it in my tracks, but I have also a lot of other ideas, so stay tuned.
LC: En general, ¿qué quieres transmitir con tus temas?
N: Si os habéis dado cuenta, mis temas tienen una letra muy profunda. Creo que algunas personas pueden identificarse con ellos y tal vez puedo ayudar un poco a decir: no estás solo.
LC: In general, what do you want to transmit with your tracks?
N: If you have already noticed, my tracks have really deep lyrics. I think some people can identify with this and maybe I can help a little bit to say: you are not alone.
LC: ¿Qué artistas te sirven de inspiración a la hora de producir?
N: Me gusta el estilo de AniMe, Miss K8, N-Vitral, Riot Shift… así como kicks de Furyan o Mad Dog.
LC: What artists inspire you when it comes to producing?
N: I like the style from AniMe, Miss K8, N-Vitral, Riot Shift… and kicks from Furyan or Mad Dog.
LC: Actualmente formas parte de DEQUINOX Hardcore, un prestigioso label que nació en Alemania hace unos años. ¿Cómo fue para ti unirte a este sello/agencia? ¿Qué simboliza para ti DEQUINOX dentro de la escena hardcore?
N: Unirme a DEQUINOX fue un paso más hacia mis objetivos. Es una agencia familiar que defiende la escena hardcore alemana, y estoy orgullosa de formar parte de esto.
LC: You are currently part of DEQUINOX Hardcore, a prestigious label that was born in Germany a few years ago. How was it for you to join this label/agency? What does DEQUINOX symbolize for you within the hardcore scene?
N: To join DEQUINOX was a step further to my goals. It’s a familiar agency that stands for the German hardcore scene, and I´m proud to be a part of this.
LC: ¿Cómo es Namara en cabina? ¿Te gusta más actuar en solitario o en B2B?
N: Pinchar en B2B es muy divertido, pero prefiero pinchar por mi cuenta. Así puedo representar más mi propio estilo.
LC: How is Namara as a DJ? Do you like performing solo or in B2B?
N: Playing B2B is really funny, but I prefer playing by myself, so I can represent more my own style.
LC: Has pinchado muchas veces en los eventos “HardRave”. Cuéntanos en qué consisten estas fiestas y cómo conseguiste empezar a formar parte de ellas.
N: Con HardRave comienza mi carrera. Mi amigo quería hacer su propia fiesta en Baviera porque no había ninguna fiesta realmente buena allí, así que me preguntó si estaba interesada en hacer esto con él. Por supuesto, le dije que sí. Planeando una fiesta, nos preguntamos quién podría pinchar además del cabeza de cartel, así que por diversión dije: “qué guay sería que yo pinchase”. Fue ahí cuando lo puse en práctica, así que se puede decir que mi mayor pasión surgió por casualidad. Estoy eternamente agradecida de que mi amigo me pidiera hacer esto con él, porque sin él, esto no hubiese sucedido de esta forma.
Y sobre HardRave, son fiestas regulares en Munich. Nombres como D-Fence, Ncyrpta, Sickmode o Rooler ya han pinchado allí. Siempre hay un ambiente agradable y lleno de energía.
LC: You have played many times in the “Hard Rave” events. Tell us about these parties and how you got to start being part of them.
N: With HardRave starts my career. My friend wanted to make his own parties in Bavaria because we had no really cool parties there, so he asked me if I was interested of doing this together with him. Of course, I said yes. Planning a party, we thought about who could play besides the headliner, so I said more for fun: “how cool it could be if I played”. Then i implemented that directly, so you can say that my greatest passion came about by chance. I’m forever grateful that my friend asked me to do this with him, because without him, that wouldn’t happening like this.
And about HardRave, they are regular partyies in Munich. Names like D-Fence, Ncyrpta, Sickmode or Rooler have already played there. It’s always a nice vibe and full with energy.
LC: En septiembre pincharás por segunda vez en Inurfase (Bootshaus). ¿Cómo fue tu experiencia al estar allí por primera vez?
N: Estoy agradecida por esta experiencia porque fue la primera fiesta en la que pinché con muchos nombres grandes en el line-up. Y también es genial pinchar en uno de los clubs más populares del mundo.
LC: In september you will be performing for the second time at Inurfase (Bootshaus). What was your experience like being there for the first time?
N: I´m thankful for this experience because it was the first party I played with a lot of big names at the line-up. And it’s also cool to play at one of the most popular clubs at the world.
LC: Hablando de shows, ¿cómo fue para ti pinchar en Neuraum junto a las reinas del hardcore AniMe y Miss K8?
N: Fue un placer pinchar en una fiesta con Miss K8 y AniMe, especialmente hacerlo después de Miss K8. Antes del show tuvimos una cena juntas. Fue una noche muy agradable en uno de mis clubs favoritos para pinchar.
LC: Talking about shows, how was it for you to play at Neuraum with hardcore queens AniMe and Miss K8?
N: It was a pleasure to play at a party with Miss K8 & AniMe, especially to play after Miss K8. Before the show we had a dinner together. It was a really nice evening in one of my favorite clubs to play.

N: My dream collaboration would be with Riot Shift, because I love how they combine the pop punk and metal style.

LC: Hardcore mainstream, uptempo o frenchcore. ¿Qué prefieres?
N: Me gustan todos, pero mi corazón pertenece al hardcore mainstream.

N: I like all, but my heart belongs to mainstream hardcore.
LC: ¿Escuchas géneros musicales que se alejen del hardcore?
N: Entre los estilos más duros escucho metal, pop punk y techno; pero también disfruto de música más relajada.
LC: Do you listen to music genres apart from hardcore?
N: Between the harder styles I listen to metal, pop punk and techno; but I also like more relaxed music.
LC: ¿Qué DAW utilizas para producir?
N: FL Studio.
LC: What DAW do you use to produce?
N: FL Studio.
LC: Hobbies aparte de la música.
N: Me gusta viajar, estar en la naturaleza, leer libros de no ficción (como los de psicología), soy una enamorada de los animales y me encanta ir a restaurantes o cafés (si eso se puede contar como un hobby jaja).
LC: Hobbies apart from music.
N: I like traveling, being in nature, reading nonfiction (like psychology books), I’m in love with animals and I love going to restaurants or coffee’s (if you can count that as an hobby haha).
LC: Una meta a largo plazo.
N: Mi mayor meta es llegar tan lejos como pueda como DJ. He encontrado mi gran pasión en ello y lo es todo para mí.
LC: A long-term goal.
N: My biggest goal is to get so far as I can as a DJ. I found my big passion in it and it’s everything for me.
LC: Por último, ¿algo que quieras decirle a los fans que tienes en España?
N: Para mis seguidores españoles diré que muchas gracias. Aprecio vuestro apoyo y espero tener pronto la oportunidad de pinchar en España y poder conoceros.
LC: Finally, anything you would like to say to your fans in Spain?
N: For my spanish supporters I will say thank you very much. I appreciate your support and I hope to have soon the opportunity of playing in Spain so I could meet you.
